A Bluetooth tracker only tells you where your pet is if they’re just a few metres away from you. This collar is something else: it has proper GPS and its own 4G connection, so it shows you their location in real time, whether they’re in the neighbour’s garden or kilometres from home.

GPS or Bluetooth: what’s the difference?

• Bluetooth (such as AirTag or Xiaomi): range of tens of metres. Useful for finding your cat indoors or checking that your dog is in the garden. If they wander off, you’ll lose the signal.
• 4G GPS (this collar): real-time satellite tracking, with no distance limit, provided there’s mobile network coverage. This is what you need when your pet actually runs away.

If you just need to find your cat behind the sofa, a Bluetooth tracker will do the job and is much cheaper. If what keeps you awake at night is the thought of them disappearing, this is the one you need.

Requires a SIM card — and you should know this beforehand

To work, the device requires a Nano SIM card with 4G data, which is not included. It works like a mobile phone: without a SIM, it won’t connect.

In practice, this means a prepaid data SIM from any Portuguese operator. The device transmits very little data, so you don’t need a large data plan. The 365GPS app is free and has no monthly fees from us or the manufacturer — the only recurring cost is that of the SIM you choose.

The 4G bands in this version (B1, B3, B7, B8, B20 and B28) are those used in Europe and are compatible with Portuguese mobile networks.

Frequently asked questions

Is it difficult to set up? There are three steps: insert the Nano SIM, switch on the device and scan the QR code provided in the box to pair it with the 365GPS app (iOS and Android).

Does it work in Spain or another European country? Yes, provided your SIM card has data roaming available in that country.

Is it suitable for cats? Yes, but it weighs 27 g with the collar — for small or very thin cats, it may be uncomfortable. In that case, a lightweight Bluetooth tracker is a better choice.

Is it rainproof? Yes, it has an IP65 rating: it’s resistant to rain and splashes. It’s not designed for submersion.

How long does the battery last? Around 4.5 days with updates every 10 minutes. If you increase the interval, it will last longer.
